A Device for the Innovator in you..!!!

I always wondered, how would have Charles Babbage the so called father of computer developed his first calculating engine. Was it his sheer brilliance, or the prophecy from a divine source, or was it the need of the hour that things were becoming too complicated to be handled by humans. It must be something, as I believe everything which is created in this world has its own purpose to solve including us. Some get it early, some a little late and there are some who spend their whole life trying to know it (including me). But sure his thoughts were way beyond his generation to come up with such a device which now has evolved exponentially and nevertheless to mention reduced in size too.

Now we are a fortunate set of people who live in this 21st century, where we believe anything and everything which is thinkable in our minds can actually be made a reality using the technology, if not now or in the near future. In this fast paced and changing world the future definitely belongs to those innovators who think out of the box and beyond their generations.
Let me introduce to you The Raspberry pi, a very innovative low cost computing device, which enables you to build many products which varies from anything to everything. The cost of the device varies between a little over 25 $ to 35 $. The price variation depends on the variant that you are looking for. I was introduced to this device in my last blog which was dealing with an IOT in home entertainment. One of my blog reader suggested me to think of some ideas with the Raspberry pi in mind. And when I took a look at some of the projects (My favorite are a private radio station and a multi room media streamer) that were already made with this device I was ridiculed at some of the ideas that I had in my mind. I usually thought on how to make use of the available devices for the betterment of our lives. But this device changed my perspective, it actually reversed my thought process and made me think of ideas to create to new devices. Now this is where revolutionists are made.

Here are some of the projects that are already available to make using this device. You name it and it is available.
1. Home automation
2. A personal assistant
3. A private radio station which can cover a football stadium
4. A cat feeder
5. Many robots
6. 3d printer
7. Google glass
8. Monitoring systems
It requires a little coding knowledge to setup and configure this device. But it’s no rocket science, the raspberry pi’s are used in many schools to teach children how to code. With this information being in consideration we as an IT experts (ahem ahem) it should be a cake walk for us configuring and using this device. And remember we have those 3 crucial skills too (Google.com, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V).
I would also suggest you to present this device as a gift to those young minds in your homes instead of those costly toys that are no longer used after few days. Who knows he/she could make a digital bomb oops sorry a digital clock and get a chance to meet Obama/ Zuckerberg one day. Think about it

Now I leave it to you, to explore more about this device and if you do come up with a low cost product that can revolutionize the world, don’t forget to mention my name in the credits.
